February weddings have a magic all of their own and Nicole and Harrison's day at Charleton Fruit Farm in Montrose was no exception. From start to finish it was full of laughter and personality making it an absolute joy to be part of.
We started the morning by delivering Nicole’s bridal flowers to the most incredible converted church in Montrose where she was getting ready. The space was filled with excitement and laughter, setting the tone for the day ahead. There is something very special about delivering flowers to a calm but joyful bridal morning and this one did not disappoint.
From there we headed over to the barn at Charleton Fruit Farm, a new wedding venue for us and one we instantly fell in love with. We were warmly welcomed by the lovely owners and could see straight away why this venue is becoming such a popular choice for couples getting married in Angus and the wider North East of Scotland. Inside, everything was already beautifully set up for the big day. The barn has a wonderfully rustic feel, softened with modern touches like exposed brick and metal work and metal chairs which gave the space a relaxed but stylish atmosphere.
The wedding theme was red, bold and full of impact. Nicole’s main request was big statement proteas and she absolutely got them. These striking blooms were the perfect choice for a winter wedding, adding texture, drama and a modern edge to the floral designs. Red wedding flowers can be incredibly powerful and they worked beautifully against the natural tones of the barn.
For the ceremony we dressed the arch with a partial floral covering, allowing the structure of the barn to shine through while still creating a stunning focal point - check out the hanging sign on the arch too, a great alternative to draping. We also created a beautiful posy to be placed on the chair of the Groom’s late mother, a thoughtful and emotional tribute that added a very personal touch to the ceremony. These meaningful details are always an honour to create and are a reminder of how important wedding flowers can be in telling a couple’s story.
Overall this was such a fun and relaxed wedding to be part of. A winter wedding at Charleton Fruit Farm, filled with laughter, love and bold floral choices, is one we will remember for a long time.
