A Relaxed and Intentional June Wedding at Finzean Village Hall

June weddings have a softness to them that I always love. Long light filled days, gentle colour palettes and a feeling that everything has room to breathe. Phoebe & John's day was exactly that. Thoughtful, unfussy and full of heart.
The day began with the bride getting ready in the most beautiful Scandi inspired cabin tucked away in Deeside. Pale timber, clean lines and calm everywhere you looked. It felt grounding and peaceful, the perfect space to start a wedding morning. There was no rush, just quiet excitement and that lovely sense of something meaningful about to unfold.
The drive out along Deeside was cathartic in itself. Winding roads, trees closing in and opening out again, that feeling of leaving the noise behind and arriving somewhere intentional. It set the tone perfectly for the day that followed.
Finzean Village Hall is a real gem. Modern, light filled and immaculately maintained, it is one of those spaces that does not need much to shine. With help from Fifty Six Events, the couple styled it in a way that felt completely true to them. Coloured streamers lined the ceiling adding movement and warmth, disco balls caught the light, and vintage rugs layered the aisle creating texture and a sense of story. Nothing felt overdone. Every choice felt deliberate.

My floral brief was a mixture of colourful and pastel shades. Hand tied bouquets with a relaxed, garden gathered feel. Bud vases dotted along surfaces adding little moments of interest without stealing focus. Table arrangements that encouraged conversation rather than towering over it. A copper frame archway dressed with flowers became the focal point for the ceremony.

What I loved most about this wedding was how stripped back and honest it felt. There was no excess, no pressure to perform. Just people, place and purpose coming together beautifully. It was relaxed but intentional, raw but warm. A reminder that when couples trust their instincts and choose elements that genuinely resonate with them, the result is something truly special.
